About First Film of the World.

Samson Raffleson, a student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, saw a musical play in a theater in 1917 in which a singer impressed him. Raffles met with him and inquired about his condition. The singer told Raffleson an interesting story of his life.

After completing his education, Raffleson made a career in the literary world and many years later wrote a novel on the singer's life entitled The Day of Atonement. The article was published in Evie Buddy's Magazine in 1922.

Raffles also adapted it into a play which was staged on Broadway and became very popular. George Jaisal played a central role. Due to the popularity of the play, Warner Bros. acquired the rights and decided to make a film.

Until then, films had lost their sound. In silent films, slides were shown in the middle of the film to tell the dialogue or story of the actors. To alleviate the lack of sound, the cinema had a single instrument, usually a pianist or sometimes an entire orchestra, that arranged the music according to the scenes in the movie, was able to meet. Warner Bros. has decided to include songs on the singer's life in the film. But the plan was initially thwarted.

George Jaisal refused to act in the film for various reasons. Warner Bros. then offered the film to the then famous singer Al-Johnson, which he accepted. And why wouldn't he accept, because he was the same singer whose real-life story Rafaelson wrote? "The film is called Jazz Singer", which is not only the world's first talking film but also the first musical. Before that, the dialogues of the actors were not even heard, so how could the songs be performed.

Jazz Singer was not a fully spoken film. Apart from songs, only a few dialogues can be heard in it. The rest of the story is told by showing slides like silent films. Jazz Singer is the story of Jackie Robnotz, a boy who was born into a strict Jewish family in New York. His father is a canter at the synagogue, where he sings prayers.

This is what his family has been doing for five generations. Jackie's voice is good and he has learned prayer songs from his father, but he also sings secretly. When a hardened father finds out, he beats his son. The son runs away from home and becomes a musician. Jackie gets one chance after another and is finally selected for performance on Broadway. The performance is at the Jewish festival of Yom Kippur.

Jackie's father traditionally sings a prayer on this day. But that day he is sick. Jackie is informed that his father is on his death bed and he wants his son to attend the family tradition and attend the services. On the one hand, there was the question of career and on the other hand, the family honor and tradition were at stake. Was It was a difficult day for Jackie. In the movie, Johnson has sung all his own songs. But it so happened that the first voice in the first talking film was not his. Jazz Singer's first song is from Jackie's childhood and was sung by an unknown singer.

Unfortunately, his name is nowhere to be found. When the first Oscars were held in 1928, four films were nominated. But Jazz Singer was not among them. It was nominated only in the field of derived scripts. But now it is considered one of the best movies and a milestone in the history of Hollywood.
